However, demonstrating the power of our ION platform with actual customer scenarios is tricky, given the confidential and compliance-heavy nature of the groundbreaking hardware technology they’re producing.
So, we opted for a more relatable—and enjoyable—way to illustrate ION's capabilities. We programmed ION to manage the inventory and create step-by-step visual work instructions for crafting six bespoke cocktails! These weren't just any cocktails; they were specially concocted for First Resonance and debuted at our LA Hard Tech Innovation Celebration.

ION Mixology Cocktail Demonstrations
Chain Reaction
Cocktail Ingredients
1.25 oz Mezcal
0.75 oz Cointreau
1/2 tsp chipotle puree
A squeeze of agave syrup
2 dashes chocolate bitters
1 oz fresh lime juice
Chipotle powder and sugar mix
Ice
Optional: lime wheel or small chili for garnish
Instructions:
Step 1 - Prepare Glass: Mix equal parts chipotle powder and sugar on a small plate. Rub cocktail glass rim with a lime wedge, then dip into the chipotle-sugar mix to coat. Set aside.
Step 2 - Mix Cocktail: In a shaker, combine the mezcal, Cointreau, chipotle puree, agave syrup, chocolate bitters, and lime juice
Step 3 - Shake Drink with Ice: Add ice to shaker, to fill halfway. Secure lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds
Step 4 - Strain and Pour: Strain mixture into prepared glass filled with fresh ice
Step 5 - Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish glass rim with a small chili
Battery Acid
Cocktail Ingredients:
1.75 oz vodka
1 oz Pama pomegranate liqueur
1 oz pomegranate syrup
A handful of mixed berries (such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries), crushed
Juice of half a lemon
Seltzer to top
Ice
Optional: lemon wheel or fresh berries for garnish
Instructions:
Step 1 - Muddle Fruit: Add mixed berries to cocktail shaker and muddle well
Step 2 - Mix Cocktail: Add vodka, Pama pomegranate liqueur, pomegranate syrup, and lemon juice
Step 3 - Add Ice and shake: fill shaker with ice, secure lid, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds
Step 4 - Strain and Pour: fill highball glass with ice and strain mixture into glass
Step 5 - Top with Seltzer: Gently top off the drink with seltzer, adjusting the amount to your taste for fizziness
Step 6 - Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with lemon wheel or fresh berries on a skewer
Drone Swarm
Cocktail Ingredients:
2 oz vodka
1 oz homemade kiwi syrup
1 oz fresh pineapple
Juice from 2 lime squeezes
Seltzer to top
Ice
Dehydrated kiwi slice for garnish
Instructions:
Step 1 - Muddle Fruit: Add pineapple to shaker and muddle well
Step 2 - Mix Cocktail: Add vodka, kiwi syrup, and lime juice to the muddled pineapple in shaker
Step 3 - Add Ice and Shake: Fill shaker with ice, secure lid, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds
Step 4 - Strain and Pour: Fill highball glass with ice and strain mixture into glass
Step 5 - Top with Seltzer: Gently top off the drink with seltzer, adjusting the amount to your taste for how fizzy you like your drink
Step 6 - Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with dehydrated kiwi slice on glass rim or float it on top
Solar Array
Cocktail Ingredients:
2 oz bourbon
1/2 oz maple syrup
A splash of brandied cherry juice
4 dashes of orange bitters
Orange zest
Ice
Brandied cherry and cinnamon sticks for stir & garnish
Instructions:
Step 1: Add a few dashes of orange bitters into an old fashioned glass
Step 2: Pour maple syrup and a splash of brandied cherry juice into glass
Step 3: Pour bourbon over the sweet mixture
Step 4: Stir mixture with one of the cinnamon sticks
Step 5: Fill glass with large ice cube or several smaller cubes
Step 6: Twist strip of orange zest over glass to release oils, then drop into cocktail
Step 7: Add brandied cherry and place another cinnamon stick in glass as garnish
ION Elixir
Ingredients:
1.25 oz gin
0.75 oz Midori (melon liqueur)
1 oz sugar
A squeeze of fresh lime juice
Club soda to top
Ice
Optional: lime wheel for garnish
Instructions:
Step 1 - Dissolve Sugar: Combine the sugar and lime juice in a shaker. Stir until sugar is mostly dissolved
Step 2 - Mix Cocktail: Add gin and Midori to the sugar and lime mixture
Step 3 - Add Ice and Shake Drink: Fill shaker with ice, secure lid, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds
Step 4 - Pour over Ice: Fill a highball glass with ice and strain mixture into the glass
Step 5 - Top with Club Soda: Gently top drink with club soda, filling up to just below the rim
Step 6 - Garnish and Enjoy: Slice a lime wheel and place on the glass rim for garnish
